In the cover letter of last week’s Weekly SERMON, we looked at Galatians 6:9, “ And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. This week, please notice Galatians 6:10, “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”

Every day we are so busy with our daily lives. We have our calendars set. Some are so organized that they can tell you each day from minute to minute where they will be and what they will be doing. That is good. We should be busy, and we should be organized. But do you know that somewhere in our busy schedules, we need to make some room, because God has something for us to do for Him?

First of all, never forget why we are here. God created us to serve and glorify Him with our lives. If we accept that fact, then we realize that whatever God wants us to do for Him takes priority over everything else. You see, God has blessed us with talents and gifts to use for His glory.

Most of the time, the job He has for us is to simply be a light in the darkness of this world. That means living a life that is pleasing and acceptable to Him and a living testimony of our faith in God to those with whom we come in contact. Each day He brings people across our path that need a
smile, a word of encouragement, someone to take a few minutes to let them know they aren't alone. Sometimes there are those He brings our way needing a divine encounter for salvation through the Savior. They don’t come to us by accident. God sends them and expects us to show them His love.

We all have to deal with many problems of our own. Some problems are more severe than others. That is a fact of life in this sin-filled world, and that fact will never change until HE returns. The Bible teaches us clearly that if we are about His business, He will be about ours. Trust me, God can deal with our problems much better than we can.

So, let Him use you today and every other day to be His living witness to those He brings your way. Tell them how real your Lord is. You will not even begin to understand the blessings that flow in your life when you are fulfilling your ultimate purpose of serving Him. While doing His will, those problems you left in God's hands will somehow be resolved.

This week in the Weekly SERMON, we continue with the revised fourteen-part series on the “Family of God.” Remember this series will eventually become the material for our eleventh book of sermons. Lord willing, and as soon as we complete the final proof and editing process, we anticipate offering several of the first ten volumes during 2011. May God’s blessing be upon you this week as you read and meditate on “How to Treat the Broken-hearted in the Family of God” taken from Psalm 34:19!

In His Amazing Grace,
Pastor David Miklas
