An Excellent Marriage Cannot Exist Without An Excellent Wife

Bible Study Objectives

1. To remind you that an excellent marriage exists when both spouses pursue excellence: (I Samuel 25:3)

2. To remind you that you are to pursue excellence even if your spouse does not pursue it: (I Samuel 25:33)

3. To remind you that marriages never coast into excellence, excellent behavior is intentional: (Daniel 1:8, 6:3)

4. To remind you that to tolerate/embrace sin is to invite destruction into your life and your home: (Hosea 4:1-6)

Excellent Wives Know The Following:

1. A wise wife knows that obedience to God is the only pathway to happiness: John 13:17, Genesis 2:18, Exodus 20:3

2. A wise wife knows that obedience brings blessings, and disobedience brings cursing: Deuteronomy 11:26, Malachi 3:10

3. A wise wife knows that love is a verb/behavior before it is a feeling: I Corinthians 13:1-13, John 14:15, Galatians 6:7

4. A wise wife knows that the culture/attitude/atmosphere in the home is totally her responsibility: Proverbs 14:1

5. A wise wife knows that sex should not be used as a tool to hammer her husband into submission: I Corinthians 7:2-5

6. A wise wife knows that as Jesus submitted to God, she is to submit to her husband in everything: Ephesians 5:22-24

7. A wise wife knows that stubbornness/hard-headedness will kill any marriage: I Samuel 15:23, Proverbs 7:11, Acts 7:51

8. A wise wife knows that a home/school/church can only exist when there is a clear chain of command: Ephesians 6:1-9

9. A wise wife knows that she is to treat her husband with real reverence and real respect: Ephesians 5:33, I Peter 3:6

10. A wise wife knows that external beauty is useless without inside beauty: I Peter 3:1-4, I Samuel 25:2, Ruth 4:13-15

11. A wise wife knows that complaining should not be one of her habits: Philippians 2:3,14, Ephesians 4:1-2, Proverbs 25:24

12. A wise wife knows that her behavior must be exemplary if she is to teach/train others: Titus 2:3-5, Proverbs 22:6

Bible Study Summary:

1. We study the Bible to discover what is right and wrong, how to get right and stay right: II Timothy 3:16

2. We obey the Bible because obedience is the only way for genuine happiness to find us: James 1:22-25

3. We are to carefully examine ourselves and make adjustments if excellence is to find us: II Corinthians 13:5

Obedience is the very best way to show that you believe.

Doing exactly as the Lord commands, doing happily.

Action is the key, do it immediately, joy you will receive.

Obedience is the very best way to show that you believe.

You spell it … O-B-E-D-I-E-N-C-E.

Obedience is the very best way to show that you believe.

If you want to live pure, if you want to live clean, and you want to do your best, you must sweetly submit to authority, leaving to God the rest.

Walking in the light, keeps your attitude right, on the narrow way.

For if you believe the Word you receive, you always must obey.

You spell it … O-B-E-D-I-E-N-C-E.

Obedience is the very best way to show that you believe.

The Above lesson was written by Tommy Dowling

If God has spoken to your heart after reading the sermon "An Excellent Marriage Cannot Exist Without An Excellent Wife" right now talk to God about what He has spoken to you.

Do you have the assurance that one day you will go to heaven? If you have no assurance that you know Jesus Christ, then I trust you will decide to accept Him as your personal Savior. The Bible tells us in

Acts 16:31, “…Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved…”

Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

This prayer is here for those who need to ask Jesus to be their personal Savior: “I do want to go to Heaven. I know I am a sinner, and I do believe Jesus Christ died for me. I realize I cannot buy this great salvation, nor can I earn it. Knowing Jesus died on the cross and arose from the grave to pay my sin debt and to purchase my salvation, I do now trust Him as my Savior, and from this moment on I am completely depending on Him for my salvation.”

If you made the decision to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, please let me know. Please send an e-mail to pastormiklas@aol.com and I will send you some literature that will help you in your Christian life.
