The church is indispensable to a Christian and his family. In Psalm 122:1; we read, "I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD."  Nothing can substitute for the local church. God’s plan for a Christian will always be fulfilled best when connected within the local church. Therefore, we need to know what the importance of the local church is and what role it should play in our lives. Here is Part 4 of the FOUR ATTITUDES we need in the local church. In Part 4, we will focus on your attitude towards your work.

There must be the attitude of GRATITUDE for the privilege of work: In II Timothy 1:2-3; we read, “To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. (3) I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day…”

There must be the attitude of ENTHUSIASM: In II Corinthians 9:6-7; we read, “But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. (7) Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.”

There must be the attitude of INDUSTRIOUSNESS: In Nehemiah 4:6; we read, “So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work.”

There must be the attitude of INITATIVE: In Matthew 25:14-23; we read, “For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. (15) And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. (16) Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. (17) And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two. (18) But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money. (19) After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them. (20) And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. (21) His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. (22) He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them. (23) His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”

There must be the attitude of POSITIVITY: In Philippians 2:14; we read, “Do all things without murmurings and disputings…”

There must be the attitude of PRESISTENCE: In John 4:34; we read, “Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.”

There must be the attitude of READINESS TO RENDER SERVICE: In Luke 22:24-26; we read, “And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest. (25) And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. (26) But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.”
